British Red Cross Humanitarian Citizen Award 2015

Michael Tomlinson, Member of Parliament for Mid Dorset and North Poole is encouraging constituents to put forward nominations for the British Red Cross Humanitarian Citizen Award 2015.

The award scheme aims to celebrate the extraordinary things young people do to help in their local communities in one of four categories:

  • First Aid
  • Volunteering
  • Community Action
  • Fundraising

The scheme is available to anyone aged 25 or under and nominations can be completed online at

This year the ceremony will be held in the Churchill Room at the House of Commons on 24 November to mark 11 years of the awards. All nominees will receive a certificate and there will also be an overall winner.

Jess Bradley, last years' winner, used her first aid skills to help a man with a stab injury to his neck; medics later said the casualty might have died without her swift help.
