Michael served in the Government Whips office as Lord Commissioner of the Treasury from 2020-2022. In July 2022 he was appointed as Her Late Majesty’s last Vice- Chamberlain. His responsibilities included writing a personal private daily letter to the Queen, highlighting the day’s debates in the House of Commons. He also had to relay addresses from the Commons to the Sovereign and back.
