Michael completes Pro Bono work for Charity

Michael was approached by a small charity for pro bono legal advice about a permanent endowment, and the effect of the changes to the Charities Act. He gave specific legal advice about powers to use a bequest for specific purposes, Charity Commission regulation, permanent endowment and interpretation of a legacy.

Michael said:

It can be difficult for small charities  to keep up with changes to legislation that might affect them, and I was pleased to be able to give advice to this charity to help them with their legacy.

Michael Appointed to Join Ethics and Integrity Commission

Michael has been asked to join the Ethics and Integrity Commission (EIC). Michael was appointed by the Prime Minister having been nominated by the Leader of the Opposition, Kemi Badenoch.  The Commission was launched on 13 October 2025, replacing the Committee on Standards in Public Life.
