As a barrister in one of the biggest barristers chambers in the country, Michael is always keen to encourage young people to become barristers. He was pleased to able to speak at the 3PB pupillage evening in London recently, to talk about pupillage on the Western circuit and to share some of his experiences in law and politics.
Michael said:
I had a fantastic start to my career on circuit, and I would encourage all future lawyers to consider a career outside London. I had huge variety to my practice in the early years, which proved to be the perfect foundation for my legal work, both in Government and in private practice.
