December News 2019

In only a week there will be the first election in December since 1923. I voted for the election, as it was clear that Parliament was deadlocked on Brexit, and no progress was being made. If I am re-elected, I will continue to honour the result of the referendum.

I am always incredibly grateful to the many volunteers who work hard in our community in so many different ways. Over the last few years, it has been a privilege to be able to meet so many of these of volunteers, and thank them for their work.

My November news is slightly different this year – Parliament has been dissolved, so I am writing not as an MP but as a candidate in the forthcoming general election.

Michael attends Rights Respecting School event

Michael was invited by several Canford Heath schools to attend a special event in Adastral Square this week. The children from the local schools were campaigning for a community charter. 

 

Michael attends Colehill event

Michael was delighted to attend the Chairman of Colehill Parish Council's annual reception, saying thank you to local volunteers who run a wide range pof activities in Colehill.

St Michael's Middle School  band provided excellent entertainment. 

Michael gets clarity over postal issues

Michael recently wrote to Royal Mail about issues over delays to postal deliveries in Lytchett Matravers. Several residents had raised concerns about getting no post, or delayed post. 

Royal Mail have now responded, confirming that they are aware of the issues, and are addressing them:

Michael attends Remembrance Parade

Michael Tomlinson was proud to take part in the Remembrance Parade and service in Wareham, as a guest of the Royal British Legion,  to honour the fallen who have served our country. 

Out & About campaigning

Despite the rain, Michael and a few local campaigners had a successful morning in Wareham, chatting to local residents and delivering Michael's latest survey. This gives residents the chance to let Michael know their views.
