A number of local residents wrote to me to highlight the Westminster Hall Debate on ovarian cancer on Tuesday 30th October.
A member of my team attended and I was very pleased to hear from the Minister Steve Brine that he will look to implement the new cancer test directory system, and is reviewing the findings of the review on screening.
The Minister also spoke about the cancer dashboard review - including the Ovarian Cancer APPG recommendation to expand beyond the top 5. I understand that he is working on the next phase but is frustrated about the limit of the dashboard, and intends to see it expanded.
He praised the workforce, and said that he was excited by the potential for earlier and better cancer diagnosis in the next 10 years, and the lives it can save.
