 I was honoured and humbled to be re-elected as the Member of Parliament for Mid Dorset and North Poole. Since being first elected in 2015, I have tried to keep local residents at the heart of what I do, and I am touched that people have recognised this by voting for me again.

Michael Supports Christian Aid

Michael tucked in at a Christian Aid Big Brekkie event in Parliament to show his support for Christian Aid Week (14-20 May 2017, caweek.org), which is raising money for refugees fleeing conflict around the world.

As I was driving home the other day, I saw some early daffodils defying the cold and gloomy weather to provide a small glimpse of spring starting. The start of the year was both cold and wet, and I look forward to better weather!

Michael visits award winning pub

Michael was delighted to visit the Sandford Pub to congratulate Jamie and Zanda Perry for being the Regional Winner in the Enterprise Community Hero Awards.  They are working hard to make the pub as welcoming as possible, to involve the local community.

 

Michael asks Prime Minister to support Great Get Together

Michael used his question to the prime Minister during last week’s PMQs to highlight a new initiative in honour of Jo Cox.

The Prime Minister joined local MP Michael Tomlinson in backing the Great Get Together initiative in honour of former MP Jo Cox.

Visit to Bergen prison

During Parliamentary recess Michael took the opportunity to visit a prison in Bergen in Norway. It is a special unit for offenders aged 15-18.
